[[Learn More about Patrick.]]

I'd like to talk about my favorite media for a moment. I'm an avid gamer, with some personal favorites being Disco Elysium - The Final Cut, Team Fortress 2, and Devil May Cry 5. My favorite TV show is The Bear (season one is damn near perfect television) and my favorite book series is Ryoko Kui's Delicious in Dungeon (Kui's understanding of Western fantasy tropes helps make her eventual deconstruction of them unique in an oversaturated genre. She's also absolutely hilarious.). I also play a ton of Magic: The Gathering, and occasionally DM a D&D campaign or two.

I was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and I very much love everything the city has taught me. Whether it was a love for public libraries or learning all there is to know about others expressing oneself, SF is a big part of why I wanted to pursue writing as a career. I wanted to write about what I saw and learned so that others could understand how much weight there truly is behind the phrase "being human."

The world of fiction acts as a way for us to explore this phrase in a safe, made-up reality. To a greater extent, games serve as the ultimate narrative medium to tell fiction, as they allow audiences to partake in the story, instead of merely absorbing it. If I can show people what I've learned and seen through a medium as expressive as video games, then I will stop at nothing to have my voice be heard.
